All Major Upgrades requires completing the game after viewing all of the item text boxes that appear when grabbing a new item. This route is unique in that it is one of the only categories that requires you to actually visit the Varia room and pick up the Varia Suit item.

There isn't yet a lot of research or testing done to optimize the best route for this category, so for now I'll link a run I've done to demonstrate one of the possible routes. The path I took was:

* Regular Kraid-First style any% path to get speedbooster early
