AWS is a skip that allows the player to avoid the acid worm fight so Samus won't activate the ziplines. It's a tight trick where you grip the blocks until the last one, and you place a bomb and do a very tight bombjump. That trick saves a lot of time, however if you miss it you will lose a good amount of time. You can also do HBJ, a backup strat that allows Samus to skip acid worm without reloading the room in case you miss the standard AWS.

This is a trick that kills a lot of runs so try to find the most consistent method for you.
